# Skovos > Skovos is the governance layer for healthcare AI. It gives every AI agent in a health system a registered identity, an explicit permission check on every action, a tamper-evident audit trail the organization owns, and a stop control the hospital can use without waiting on the vendor. Skovos is based in Boston and its mission is to help hospitals safely adopt AI. Skovos (formerly Haver AI) builds AI governance software for US health systems, hospitals, ACOs and health plans. Core capabilities: an AI agent registry and inventory; policy and permission enforcement at runtime; a hash-chained, tamper-evident audit trail; recall and stop controls owned by the hospital; and signed, OVERT-style evidence exports for auditors.
